Charlie’s story
Charlie Phillips is a British-Caribbean photographer and was one of the first to capture the lives of Black people living in North Kensington in the 60s. His work has featured in Life Italian Vogue, Tate Britain, V&A, Harper’s Bazaar and the Museum of the City of New York. I had the pleasure of interviewing Charlie for Black History Month in 2020, as a collaboration with You Press and Paddington Central.
